From the Oil Fields of Texas
VenLink began in the oil fields of Texas. From 2014 to 2021, our founders ran vendor operations for an E&P company, managing hundreds of contractors, service providers, and suppliers.
By 2016, they had built an internal tool to track vendor compliance, insurance, and contracts—because nothing on the market understood their operational reality. That tool evolved through years of real-world use, refined by actual vendor management challenges.
In 2018, they began licensing the technology to other operators who faced the same challenges. The response confirmed what they suspected: vendor management was broken everywhere.
In 2022, VenLink officially launched as an independent company, bringing enterprise-grade vendor management to industrial operators who need it most.

Mark Brown is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in government and private sector industries. With a proven track record spanning over 25 years in security, risk management, and compliance worldwide, Mark's strategic vision and leadership have strengthened organizational efficiencies, ensuring contractual compliance and safeguarding assets.
Joshua Owens
Founder & COO
Josh Owens has over 20 years of oil and gas experience in operations, accounting, finance, and risk & contract management and 10 years developing and implementing third-party risk management solutions in the energy, construction, and oil and gas sectors. He is a Certified Risk Manager (CRM) through the National Alliance of Insurance Education and Research and serves on the Texas Insurance Academy Board of Directors.
